so i dont know much about cars?

ok so im a grade ten student and i dont know anything about cars or anything really, but i really wanna learn, so i figure the best way to learn is to get a lawn car and just do what i can to it, i found a VW passat 93 that needs some exhuast work a rad and brake work, are those kinds of repairs a lot of work? any recommindations on how i could learn more about cars would be awesome, thanks a lot
i never intend on ever driving that car, i got a 99 golf that gets me around
