I have to start a two day car ride tomorrow from Connecticut to Nebraska. My family doesn’t have time to wait around for the part needed to fix the air conditioning so we are going to have to go without it. Any suggestions on how to stay cool…or at least not boiling?

Would the Mazda RX-8 be a cool car for a guy to drive?
About half of the guys at my school are hicks and drive pickup trucks, and I **** pickup trucks. Anyway, I really like the Mazda RX-8, but It seems like it could be a girly car. Do a lot of guys drive it? Would it be cool for a guy to drive?
I’m also looking at the Honda Element, is that cool? Thanks.

I have an 06 Corolla. My question is what is the most fuel efficient setting for driving in hot weather? I heard having the windows down increases drag thus reducing gas milage.
Then there is air conditioning, does that affect gas milage? Will having the blower on low use less energy than having it on high?

According to Wikipedia, the greatest recorded distance by a car was 4.2 Gm by a 1966 Volvo P-1800S. What other cars have reached this milestone?
Certainly this is a bigger accomplishment than our measly miles:
1 Gm (gigameter)= 1,000,000,000 meters
approximately 621,370 miles= 1 Gm
So this might be a little silly, but hey, it is a little cool (if you’re a geek like me). Thoughts please, and do a little research!

Does a car’s interior also get hot because it’s essentially a big piece of metal/aluminum/yada that absorbs heat? With having window tints/sunshades in mind, what can i you do to cool the car down? Would some type of insulation under the carpet/roof help in rejecting heat entering?
