… and we shan’t disappoint. GOT IT?!

Deadline is Tuesday, Nov. 23rd!

Good luck, folks!

POTM November

Posted by: clutch  /  Category: Car Multimedia & Games

This Month’s Theme: Drifting Shots

We are rolling towards the end of the year in what is now the 11th month of the year. For this month, I thought we would go with a smokey finish with the theme being drift shots! As we slide closer to 2011 your job is to find a picture of a car drifting. When making your selection make it apparent that the vehicle is indeed sliding with its tail out and wheels on opposite lock. There is a difference between burnouts, plowing in a corner, 4 wheel slides and drifting. Don’t be "smart" about it, enter appropriately. Keep to cars gents.

Entries must be in by: November 21, 2010

Voting: POTM October

This Month’s Theme: Fall Foliage

We’ve arrived to October, the 10th and one of the most transitory months of the year. It marks the beginning of fall most visually, as tree leaves change color and fall to the ground signifying the doldrums of winter are not far away! So for POTM October, you are to submit a shot, with a car, in a fall foliage setting. To meet this requirement, you must have fall in the shot. Its pretty self explanatory, get a shot with some trees changing their color and/or leaves that have been shed on the ground showing the classic signs of Autumn.

Voting ends: November 4, 2010

-Good luck to everyone

-Vote using the 2-1 method

-Photos are uploaded to my gallery for viewing at any time.

It’s Summer somewhere… but in the land of the Corvette, it’s Autumn.

We shall see a C7 soon… but let’s beat GM to the chase!

I won’t be competing in this competition, as I will be hosting a demonstration on skills and techniques in teXas’ Tutorial Thread .

Due date is Tuesday, November 2nd!!!

Good luck folks!

Design Comptetition 13 Poll (Aston Revamp)

Posted by: teXas  /  Category: Car Multimedia & Games

Thanks to all who participated in Design Competition 13! I’m happy to see the interest. I may even hunt down the old regulars and bring them back.

The premise of the competition was to bring a new language or angle to Aston Martin. As we’ve come to discover, it ain’t that easy!

Member voting will be the usual:
Vote 2 for your first choice, and 1 for your second.
The Poll is for non members, in case of a tie… not lazy voters!

The winner of Design Competition 13 will have choice for Design Competition 14.

**** yeah!!!

Sporting a 13.6 liter, 7500 horsepower V71, the Aston Martin DB Vanquish will do 0-60 in 3/4 of a second and on to a top speed of JUST shy of 400 miles per hour. and it’ll pull a 3 g corner on those 24′s

I came with idea of 1200kg-1300kg 2 seater, with mixed retro and moddern styling but doh… that didn’t work. The concept looked crappy.
Well, I think this is fine, a ~1350kg with v8, with a hand-made retro styling interior, like in small sportscars companies.

Hellz yeah! MS PAINT FTW!

4.5 Liter V8 making 400 hp at 7500 rpms
Curbweight 2999 lbs (I’m also going to market the **** out of how the car weighs less than 3000 lbs too)
6 speed manual transmission (only available transmission)
Top Speed: 170mph
Price: $75,000 dollars

Just to mess with you, a teaser Aston Martin style… I have more than that, but I really want to make it Aston Martin style…

So, ehh, my first attempt at drawing a car. Howzabouthat?

In reality, the grille shouldn’t be so big, the wheels should be spokes, it would be the size of a Boxster, and the boattail would be AWESOME.

Powered by a small supercharged V8, it’d compete with, like all Astons, nothing. Equate it to an extremely luxurious droptop 6/8th’s scale Mustang and you’re close. Unlike the ‘Stang, it’d have independent suspension, and it’d handle well–not as well as a Boxster, but close, and much quieter and more comfortable.

RWD with a 608 horsepower 6 liter V8 up front. Full trim luxury interior, use of composites for body and an aluminum chassis keeps weight at 3400 lb. 7 Speed manumatic allows for acceleration numbers to 60 at 3.85 seconds.

MSRP: $188,000 USD.

I call it the DBC I guess… it’s a front-mid 500hp supercharged V8 powered 4 seat aluminum chassis coupe… not 2+2. RWD is standard; awd is optional. Transmission choices are limited to 6 speed manual, and paddle shift sequential.

At a starting MSRP of $110,000, the DBC is designed to compete with the BMW M6 and Jaguar XKR.

Good luck to all contestants!
