I am getting a car soon and i live in Memphis, TN and go to school where trucks are everything. What is a good truck that is less than 10000 that is a full size truck…. (must be at least a 01.) If not a truck then what full size SUV would be good that is less than 10000?

At car dealerships they have OK cars for like $5,500 and stuff. Most of the cars I found are decent, but seem overpriced. Warranty is included
On craigslist there are so many awesome cars for $5,500 in the area where I live (Same town). Some are being liquidated, but my mom won’t let me buy a car from a person on Craigslist (I’m a college student so she said she’d help pay for it…so she has say haha).
Is buying from Craigslist ok? I mean they can’t just straight-up lie…right? Could they like sign a mutual agreement that if something goes wrong they are to blame?
